It's only natural to have questions, and where here to help put you on the right Pilates path.

"I tried reformer pilates for the first time after the birth of our daughter. Gestation, labour and a cesarian section left me wondering if I would ever be the same. Every session with Katie left me feeling stronger and more positive, learning about muscle groups and how to target areas that needed it most. Rather than punishing the body that had served me and my bub so well, I was nurturing it back to its former self. Previously a high intensity trainer, Encore Pilates has totally changed the way I look at exercise."

"A few of my friends experienced ongoing issues with their pelvic floor following pregnancy. So for my first pregnancy, I took their advice and started taking semi-private classes at Encore weekly from around 9 weeks through to the end of my pregnancy. I am 38 years old and had an incredibly smooth pregnancy and was able to remain very active up to the end. Since I had my baby via caesarean I have had no problems with my pelvic floor and made a quick recovery."

Putting Mumma first

Sometimes we get so focussed on our growing baby that we forget to take some moments to look after ourselves. It's how nature prepares us to give unconditionally. But you can't give from a cup thats empty so Pilates is a wonderful way to give back to yourself. New mums need to be strong, supple and supported to recover from birth and do all those tasks associated with being a mum. Look after your body and your body will look after you.

Pregnancy can be stressful

Many women work well into their third trimester, while others have other children to care for. Lets face it, we live in stressful times. Pilates will help ease tension in 2 ways. The exercises are conducive to better muscle function and our classes are mindful, bringing you in to the moment.
